Hello, I'm Kaitlin! I'm a physical therapy aide-turned-product designer navigating my twenties in sunny, Los Angeles 👋

I am a California-native and graduated in 2021 from the University of California, Davis (go Aggies!!) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. For much of my college years, I originally set my sights on becoming a physician assistant. I was very drawn to the field of healthcare, as I wanted to be an attentive and warm presence for patients and extend my compassion by helping others. However, despite being deep into the career path I was on, I have always had a huge soft spot for creating art and had a great interest in graphic design since I was very young. Here’s a challenge: Go through my family photo albums and find one year of my life during my childhood when I wasn’t showing off my drawings to my dad behind the camera.

It was fateful when I discovered the field of product design, because I fell in love with how I was able to intersect my interest in psychology theories and studies, while communicating my qualities of empathy and problem-solving through useful, meaningful design. Furthermore, my background in healthcare has translated into my compassion for end-users and has given me a deep understanding of the importance of simplicity, accessibility, and usability in design.

When I'm not designing, you can catch me walking my dog, Jojo, or deciding what new food place to try with my partner or my friends (I have a whole list of must-eats on my phone). I am greatly interested in expanding my life experiences and am always eager to share my insights and learnings with others ✦
